About Opera Australia
Opera Australia is Australia’s national opera company, presenting more than 600 performances and playing to more than half a million people around the country each year. Opera Australia presents 200 performances a year at the Sydney Opera House. The most popular operas and musicals are performed most nights January to March and June to November. The season can be found at https://opera.org.au/calendar.
No visit to Sydney is complete without seeing an opera at the Sydney Opera House. Groups from 20 to 1500 delegates can be accommodated for.
For just four weeks of the year (March–April), an astonishing, purpose-built outdoor venue is created on Sydney Harbour, for a truly remarkable opera event. A huge stage is erected on the water’s edge complete with seating for 3000, cafés, restaurants and bars. This is ‘pop-up’ at its grandest. In 2016, there were 27 performances of Turandot on the Sydney Harbour stage.
Tickets are generally between $99 and $299. ITOs, PCOs and conference organisers access commissionable rates.
